الصدقُtruthfulness سيفsword اللهGod فيin الأرضthe earth
الصدقُ سيف الله في الأرض
يقطعcuts بالطولِlengthwise وبالعرضِand breadthwise
يقطع بالطولِ وبالعرضِ
Truthfulness is God's sword on earth.
Truth is God's sword on earth
It cuts lengthwise and breadthwise.
It cuts lengthwise and crosswise
يعمencompasses all بالقطعthrough cutting لهذاfor this reason يرىis seen
يعم بالقطع لهذا يرى
يحكمrules فيin الرفعexaltation وفيand in الخفضabasement
يحكم في الرفع وفي الخفض
Its cutting encompasses all; thus it is seen
It spreads by cutting, so it sees
Ruling over exaltation and abasement,
It rules raising and lowering
والعالمand the world الأقربnearer فيin عزهits glory
والعالم الأقرب في عزه
والعالمand the world الأبعدfarther فيin الأرضthe earth
والعالم الأبعد في الأرض
And over the nearer world in its glory,
The closest world in its glory
And over the farther world on earth.
And the farthest world on earth
يقيمestablishes دينreligion اللهGod فيamong خلقهHis creatures
يقيم دين الله في خلقه
نيابةas a deputy فيin النفلvoluntary worship والفرضand obligatory worship
نيابة في النفل والفرض
It establishes God's religion among His creatures,
It establishes God's faith in His creation
As a deputy, in voluntary and obligatory worship.
As a representative in supererogatory and obligatory acts
ولاand not يرىsees فيin ملكهHis dominion جائراًan unjust person
ولا يرى في ملكه جائراً
إلاexcept الذيthe one who ينصبtoils بالغرضfor a personal aim
إلا الذي ينصب بالغرض
And it sees no unjust person in His dominion
And it does not see in His kingdom an oppressor
Except the one who toils for a personal aim.
