    Toward you—may you be above reproach—I cross the watering places,

    Upon the high-humped she-camel, from the land of Babylon.

    For whoever hates the trees hates their land,

    And my being accepts nothing other than the Truth.

    I have journeyed only at the commands of a truthful one,

    Who tells me: Depart from the place of falsehoods.

    إليك استناد الخلق عند النوازل

    For you are to us a mighty, firmly built pillar;

    Upon you creation relies when calamities strike.

    The envious have indeed made a statement about you,

    Yet those who said it gained nothing from it.

    Before you the crowns of every sovereign bowed down,

    And those beneath them, lords and chieftains.

    You have indeed come to Islam as glad tidings and mercy,

    And to the lower world, the inheritance of a perfected one.

    Through you the people of merit attained every virtue,

    And even if they are unaware, the Truth is not unaware.

    وما الناس إلا بين حالٍ وعاطلِ

    Whoever believed in the Truth adorned himself with it;

    And people are but the adorned and the unadorned.
