The Real is known, while realities are unknown.

The veils are lowered, and the Guardian grants respite.

Were the curtains lifted, we would not expose the one

Its winds ruled over them through time,

When Time appeared unveiled, strutting forth.

Their blowing lifted the curtains from the eyes,

    Like the south wind when it blows, and the north wind;

And a west wind comes behind him to drive him

Toward the east wind of acceptance, since it receives him.

Then, when existence fell away from him and he found nothing,

A slanting wind came to him, and that was the turning point.

So he knew through it that the one who had surprised him

Was now turning aside from the slanting wind's station.

And he is the denier, for he knows of His manifestation

In everything—and this is knowledge in outline.
