أربى على حدّ السُّوى والمستوى

The man—if you match him in his deeds—

Man, if his conduct becomes excessive

surpasses the limit of otherness and the level plane.

And goes beyond moderation and balance

فاقبض عنان الطرف عن إسرائه

فالعجز علم محقق أخذ اللوى

So draw tight the gaze’s reins, restraining its night journey;

Then restrain your gaze from wronging

for helplessness is certain knowledge that has taken the banner

For inability is a sure sign of deviation

من عنده في موقف تاهت به
