The fire blazes in my heart and in my liver,

Longing for the light of the Essence of the One, the Self-Sufficient.

Yearning for the light of the One, the Eternal

فجد عليّ بنورِ الذاتِ منفرداً

فجد عليّ بنورِ الذاتِ منفرداً

حتى أغيبَ عن التوحيد بالأحد

حتى أغيبَ عن التوحيد بالأحد

So grant me the light of the Essence alone,

Bestow upon me the light of the Essence alone

Until, through the Unique One, I lose awareness of affirming oneness.

That I may be absent from Oneness through the One

جاد الإله به في الحال فارتسمت

جاد الإله به في الحال فارتسمت

حقيقة غيبت قلبي عن الجسد

حقيقة غيبت قلبي عن الجسد

God bestowed it at once, and there took shape

The Divine graced me with it immediately and so

A reality that drew my heart away from the body.

The reality of my heart's absence from the body manifested

فصرتُ أشهدُه في كلِّ نازلة

فصرتُ أشهدُه في كلِّ نازلة

عناية منه في الأدنا وفي البعد

عناية منه في الأدنا وفي البعد

Then I came to witness Him in every calamity,

I now witness Him in every circumstance

Through His care, both near and far.
