فما أبالي إذا نفسي تساعدني

على النجاة بمن قد فاز أو هلكا

So I care not—if my soul helps me

I care not if my soul aids me

Toward salvation—who has triumphed or perished.

To survive, be it one who has won or lost

فانظر إلى ملكك الأدنى إليك تجد

فانظر إلى ملكك الأدنى إليك تجد

في كلِّ شخصٍ على أجزائه ملكا

في كلِّ شخصٍ على أجزائه ملكا

So look at your kingdom, the nearest to you: you will find

Look to your lowest kingdom within you will find

In every person a king over his parts.

In each person, a king over his parts

وزنهُ بالعدلِ شرعاً كلّ آونة

وزنهُ بالعدلِ شرعاً كلّ آونة

واسلك به خلفه من حيثُ ما سلكا

واسلك به خلفه من حيثُ ما سلكا

And weigh him with justice, according to religious law, at all times;

Weigh him with justice and right, each moment

And walk with him, behind him, wherever he has walked.

And follow in his path from whence he walked

ولا تكن مارداً تسعى لمفسدة

ولا تكن مارداً تسعى لمفسدة

في ملكِ ذاتك لكن فيه كُن مَلِكا

في ملكِ ذاتك لكن فيه كُن مَلِكا

And do not be a rebel striving for corruption

Be not a demon who seeks corruption

In the kingdom of your self, but be a king within it.

In your kingdom of self, but therein be king
