Say: how can a heart be still when it cannot encompass him,

while it has become certain of this through its turning?

من يطمئن إلى تحصيل فائته

من يطمئن إلى تحصيل فائته

فإن ما فاته أعى لمنتبه

فإن ما فاته أعى لمنتبه

Who feels assured of attaining what has eluded him?

For what has eluded him is more baffling to one who is alert.
