الحمد لله حقَّ حمدِه

الحمد لله حقَّ حمدِه

حمداً يوافيه دون وعده

حمداً يوافيه دون وعده

Praise be to God, with the praise rightly due to Him,

Praise be to God, praise that befits Him,

a praise that reaches Him, apart from His promise,

Praise that meets Him without promise on our part,

عينا فلا يعتريه نقصٌ

عينا فلا يعتريه نقصٌ

يجيئه من وراء حدِّه

يجيئه من وراء حدِّه

in actuality, so no deficiency befalls it,

Perfect praise that admits no defect,

coming to it from beyond its limit.

Praise that comes from beyond all boundaries,

الحد أمر يعم حتى

الحد أمر يعم حتى

يسأل فيه عن حد عدّه

يسأل فيه عن حد عدّه

The limit is a matter so all-encompassing that

For boundaries are an order that spreads

one asks concerning it about the limit of its count.

Until one asks about the limit of their number,

ولم أقل فيه ذاك إلا

ولم أقل فيه ذاك إلا

من أجل من لم ينل بضده

من أجل من لم ينل بضده

And I said that concerning it only

And I say this only on account of those

for the sake of one who did not attain it through its opposite.

Who have not attained the opposite by effort.
