إن قلبي وخاطري

إن قلبي وخاطري

صيّراني كما ترى

صيّراني كما ترى

Indeed, my heart and my mind

My heart and my thoughts

have made me as you see.

Have made me as you see

أقطعُ الليلَ ساهراً

أقطعُ الليلَ ساهراً

أهجرُ النومَ والكرى

أهجرُ النومَ والكرى

I pass the night awake;

I stay up all night awake

I forsake sleep and slumber.

Abandoning sleep and rest

وأنيسي مَن يعمر الس

وأنيسي مَن يعمر الس

يِّد لا يعمر القُرى

يِّد لا يعمر القُرى

And my companion is one who worships the Mas-

And my companion is He who inhabits the Most High, not earthly dwellings

-ter, not one who inhabits villages.

Since He appeared before my eyes

مذ تجلى لناظري

مذ تجلى لناظري

في سماءٍ وفي الثرى

في سماءٍ وفي الثرى

Since He revealed Himself to my gaze

In the heavens and on earth

in heaven and in the soil,

I see none but my Master

ما أرى غير سيدي

ما أرى غير سيدي

دونَ شكٍّ ولا أمترا

دونَ شكٍّ ولا أمترا

I see none but my Master,

Without a doubt or hesitation

without doubt or uncertainty.

The greatest liar among people

أعظم الناسِ فِريةً

أعظم الناسِ فِريةً

مَن على ربِّه افترى

مَن على ربِّه افترى

The greatest liar among people

Is he who slanders his Lord

is whoever fabricates lies against his Lord.

Include Him in everything

أحضروه في كلِّ ما

أحضروه في كلِّ ما

يعلم الخلقُ أو يرى

يعلم الخلقُ أو يرى

Make Him present in all that

That people know or see

creation knows or sees.

And beware of him for he is

واحذروه فإنه

واحذروه فإنه

عينُ مَن عينَه يرى

عينُ مَن عينَه يرى

And beware of Him, for He is

The eye of Him whose eye sees all

the very essence of whoever beholds His essence.
