أرى ليلةَ القدرِ المعظمِ قدرها

أرى ليلةَ القدرِ المعظمِ قدرها

ترفع مني في الشهودِ ومن قدري

ترفع مني في الشهودِ ومن قدري

I see the Night of Decree, whose worth is exalted,

I see the night of al-Qadr, so great is its worth

Raising me in witnessing and elevating my rank.

It raises me in witnessing, and raises my worth

وذلك شطر الدهرِ عندي لأنها

وذلك شطر الدهرِ عندي لأنها

تكون بما فيها إلى مطلع الفجر

تكون بما فيها إلى مطلع الفجر

And that, to me, is half of time, for it

And that is half of time for me, as in it

Lasts, with all it holds, until the break of dawn.

Exists till the dawn everything that will be

ترحل عني تبتغي عينَ موجودي

ترحل عني تبتغي عينَ موجودي

وقد سترت أمري وقد شرحتْ صدري

وقد سترت أمري وقد شرحتْ صدري

It departs from me, seeking the very essence of my being,

It leaves me, seeking my being's eye

Having veiled my affair and expanded my breast.

And my affair it has concealed, and opened my chest
