قدindeed سمعhas heard اللهGod قولَspeech عبدِهHis servant
قد سمع الله قولَ عبدِه
إذwhen حمدَhe praised اللهGod حقَّas is due حمدِهِpraise of Him
إذ حمدَ الله حقَّ حمدِهِ
God has indeed heard His servant's words,
God has heard His servant's word
When he praised God as He deserves to be praised.
When he praised God as He deserved
لقدindeed وفىfulfilled الربُّthe Lord ليfor me بعهديwith my covenant
لقد وفى الربُّ لي بعهدي
لماwhen وفيناwe fulfilled لهfor Him بعهدِهwith His covenant
لما وفينا له بعهدِه
The Lord has indeed fulfilled my covenant for me,
The Lord has kept His covenant with me
When we fulfilled His covenant for Him.
When we kept our covenant with Him
وقدand indeed أراناhas shown us الإلهGod جوداًout of generosity
وقد أرانا الإله جوداً
منfrom كرمِbounty الذاتthe Essence صدقَtruth وعدِهHis promise
من كرمِ الذات صدقَ وعدِه
And God, out of generosity, has shown us
God has shown us kindness
From the bounty of the Essence, the truth of His promise.
From the generosity of His essence, true to His promise
وهوand He معيwith me حيثwherever كنتI was منهin relation to Him
وهو معي حيث كنت منه
بقربٍin nearness إنif كانit is أوor ببعدهin distance from Him
بقربٍ إن كان أو ببعده
And He is with me wherever I may be in relation to Him,
He is with me wherever I am in relation to Him
Be it in nearness or in distance from Him.
In nearness if near, or from afar if far
