    دنيا وآخرة لا ينقضي أمدهْ

    The day of ascents is a day without end;

in this world and the hereafter, its span never ends.

Even if the events that occur were counted

within its day, their tally would not end within its day.

If I had a support, I would not lean

upon it, for knowledge decrees that I am its support.

Noah called his people, that their Lord might forgive

them; so they answered him with what he had called for.

They answered through their states, covering their garments

for a secret kept veiled; the hearer is the one who understands.

Had they called out, that there might be lifted from them

the veil of blindness, no one would have turned back or striven.

These are allusions for the community of Ahmad,

not for Noah, though the discourse concerns them both.

May God guard one who has ever inspired awe,

a noble imam who has guarded the sanctity of the Real.

upon a firmly rooted mountain, it would surely split asunder.

when His revelation came to him, it did not waver,

you see before Him, prostrating and bowing.

And you see them during intimate prayer, uncovered,

    bewildered, intoxicated, submissive and reverent.
