الصومُfasting مَّيزdistinguished ذاتَthe essence الحقِّof the Real مِنْfrom ذاتيmy essence
الصومُ مَّيز ذاتَ الحقِّ مِنْ ذاتي
لأنهbecause it بينbetween آلامٍpains ولذَّاتِand pleasures
لأنه بين آلامٍ ولذَّاتِ
Fasting distinguished the essence of the Real from my own,
Fasting distinguished the essence of truth from my essence
for it lies between pains and pleasures.
