Every sovereign rises above all common folk,
Authority lies over every marketplace
When he inhabits the lengths and stills the breadth.
When lengths are quieted and widths are settled
وماand not ذاكthat إلاexcept ههناhere بتكلُّفٍthrough effort

And that is only here, through effort;
Yet that is only accomplished with effort here
And obligation vanishes if he leaves the earth,
And effort ceases when one leaves the earth

To the Garden of Refuge, in his sensory form,
To the Garden of Refuge with awakened senses
And there is no shadow there, even though it has breadth.
Where there is no shade though it has breadth

You think you see people, yet they are not as you see them.
You may think you see people yet they are not as you see
And they have no likeness other than jerboas.
For they have nothing like hands or feet

Their hearts are like the jerboa's concealed escape-hole, for a wise purpose,
Their hearts are like the hypocrites by decree’s wisdom
Though they differ from the jerboa in constitution and shape.
Though they differ from hands and feet in form and shape

فوجهٌso one face إلىtoward فصلٍseparation ووجهٌand one face إلىtoward وصلunion
For they have two faces at the root of their creation:
For they have two faces in their essence
Thus one face is toward separation, and one toward union.
One facing separation, one facing union

And this is praise that tells of a truth;
And this is praise stemming from truth
And it is not invective; one such as I is above attacking them.
Far above reproaching them is my like

Nor am I absent from what I have mentioned;
I am not absent from what I have mentioned
But the possessor of merits is distinguished by merit.
But the virtuous are distinct in merit

And I have said only what I have confirmed to be so;
I have only said what is verified to be
For a person's likeness appears in the shadow.
For the image of a person appears in shade

And the peoples know that I have a form,
And people knew I love in my form
With which I was endowed through the bounty of special favor above all others.
The excellence of particular grace over all

So, O soul, bestow your generosity upon a young man,
So my soul, be generous to a lad
Who has placed you all, through poverty, in the station of the origin.
Whom you have placed in poverty's position

So if he is not worthy, then you are worthy.
If he is not worthy, you are worthy
And by coming, he is none other than one of the worthy.
And he cannot come but from the worthy

No being deserves for its own sake
Any praise or invective without a deed.
The existence of praise or blame without action
