    Whoever has never ceased seeking me by obeying the revealed law,

    I have never ceased seeking him according to that law and desiring him,

    Until I saw what I had sought from him, in

    The ordering of what I could not negate through reason.

    The servant—were it not for the Real’s self-disclosure in forms

    Of many kinds—would be driven to transgression by reason’s proof.

    For he seeks Him through reason’s proof,

    While the revealed law tears down what thoughts build.

    فإنَّ ذلك فيهم من تحليه

    Thus every entity worships Him through knowledge of the Real;

    For that, within them, comes from His self-adornment.
