In this affair, I am like you—

أنكم خير مُستند

Then let the finest refuge be this:

So let the best refuge be

that you are the surest support.

إن خيرَ الأنام من

عجّل الخير إن قصد

عجّل الخير إن قصد

Indeed, the best of humankind is one

Indeed, the best of humankind is one who

who hastens to do good once resolved.

hastens to do good when he is sought out.

فإنا منكم كما

فإنا منكم كما

أنتمُ بيضة البلد

أنتمُ بيضة البلد

For we are of you, just as

you are the cream of the land.

you are the town’s egg—its core.

أنت عزٌّ لدينِ مَن

أنت عزٌّ لدينِ مَن

شرع الخير واجتهد

You are my strength for the faith of him

You are an honor to the faith of him who

who ordained the good and strove—

النبيُّ الذي بهم

ته حُلّتِ العقد

the Prophet, by whose

high resolve the knots were undone.

كيف تحصى مآثرُ

ما لها عندنا عدد

How could the noble deeds be counted?

To us, they are beyond number.

فاحمد الله يا أخي

فالسعيد الذي حمد

فالسعيد الذي حمد

So praise God, my brother,

for blessed is the one who gives praise.

for fortunate is the one who has given praise.

فبه دهره نجا

فبه دهره نجا

وبه اليومَ قد سعد

وبه اليومَ قد سعد

For through Him, throughout his life, he was saved,

For through it he was saved throughout his life,

and through Him today he has found happiness.

and through it he has found happiness today.
