And its Capella stars point the way to us

when hidden from the keen observer.

The stars of stoning—my God sent them

    to burn every errant devil.

And they blaze into view in the ether,

then plunge through the air toward the fool.

So they burn him, and he loses what he has

of certain knowledge in the fall.

They are fires, a light to the eyes,

like water, the drink of a wretched, thirsty man.

So glory be to the Knower of all things,

and to Him who reveals it to the saint’s heart.
