ذكرى إلهي ليس عن نسيانِ

ذكرى إلهي ليس عن نسيانِ

لكن عبادة مُنعمٍ محسانٍ

لكن عبادة مُنعمٍ محسانٍ

My remembrance of my God does not spring from forgetfulness,

My remembrance, my God, is not from forgetfulness

but is worship of a Bestower of blessings, ever beneficent.

Rather, worship of a benefactor, bestower of grace

إني على نفسي مننتُ بذكره

إني على نفسي مننتُ بذكره

وكذاك فعلُ مُحقق إنسان

وكذاك فعلُ مُحقق إنسان

I have favored myself by remembering Him,

Indeed I have favoured myself by remembering Him

and such is the act of a human being who has realized truth.

And so has done the true human being

إن الرجالَ لهم شبابُ زمانة

إن الرجالَ لهم شبابُ زمانة

كالشمسِ في حملٍ وفي نيسان

كالشمسِ في حملٍ وفي نيسان

Indeed, the men possess youthful vigor amid infirmity,

Men have the youth of an era

like the sun in Aries and in Nisan.

Like the sun in Aries and in April

الله قوّاهم على تكليفه

الله قوّاهم على تكليفه

إياهمُ في دولة الميزان

إياهمُ في دولة الميزان

God strengthened them for the duties He imposed

God strengthened them for His charge

upon them in the reign of Libra,

Upon them in the state of the scales

بعناية النبي الكريمِ المصطفى

بعناية النبي الكريمِ المصطفى

خيرِ الخلائقِ من بني عدنان

خيرِ الخلائقِ من بني عدنان

through the care of the noble, chosen Prophet,

By the care of the generous chosen Prophet

the best of creation, from the descendants of Adnan.

The best of creations from the children of Adnan

لما سمعتُ به سلكت سبيله

لما سمعتُ به سلكت سبيله

وكفرتُ بالطاغوتِ والطُّغيان

وكفرتُ بالطاغوتِ والطُّغيان

When I heard of him, I followed his path

When I heard of him I tread his path

and rejected false gods and tyranny,

And disbelieved in the tyrant and the tyranny

عقداً وإيماناً فإنَّ وجودَه

عقداً وإيماناً فإنَّ وجودَه

في عينها بشهادةِ الإحسان

في عينها بشهادةِ الإحسان

in conviction and faith; for His existence

A contract and faith that his existence

is in its very essence, as spiritual excellence attests.

In its essence by witnessing of benefaction

وبذا قضى أن لا تكون عبادةُ

وبذا قضى أن لا تكون عبادةُ

الإله في مُحكم القرآنِ

الإله في مُحكم القرآنِ

And thus He decreed that there should be no worship

And so decreed that the worship

[except of] God, in the Qur'an's definitive text.

Of God be in the precise Quran

فورثته قولاً وعلماً والذي

فورثته قولاً وعلماً والذي

كلفت من عمل ومن إيمان

كلفت من عمل ومن إيمان

So I became his heir in speech and knowledge, and in what

I thus inherited from him words, knowledge and He

I was charged with, of deeds and faith.

Who tasked me of deed and faith

حفظَ المهيمنُ دينه بقواعدَ

حفظَ المهيمنُ دينه بقواعدَ

خمسٍ لما فيه من السُّلطان

خمسٍ لما فيه من السُّلطان

The Guardian preserved His religion through foundations,

The All-Powerful protected His religion with principles

five in number, because of the authority within it.

Of five, for what is in it of the sultanate
