ألا إنني مولى لمن أنا عبدُه

فأنصره عن أمرِه وأناضلُ

Behold, I am an ally to the one whose servant I am.

Behold, I am a loyal servant to the one whose slave I am

So I aid him at his command and do battle.

So I will support him in his affairs and contend

وإنَّ سهامي لا تطيشُ وإنها

وإنَّ سهامي لا تطيشُ وإنها

تصيبُ إذا التفتْ عليّ القبائلُ

تصيبُ إذا التفتْ عليّ القبائلُ

And indeed my arrows do not stray, and indeed they

And verily my arrows do not miss, indeed they

hit their mark when the tribes gather against me.

Strike when the tribes turn against me

أقاتلهم بالسيفِ والحجةِ التي

أقاتلهم بالسيفِ والحجةِ التي

بها يدمغ القرن الكميِّ المنازل

بها يدمغ القرن الكميِّ المنازل

I fight them with the sword and the proof,

I fight them with the sword and the argument

by which the armored adversary who gives battle is crushed.

With which the spear pierces the high homes
