أمر الإله من الإله تعلّق

ما أمره في العالمين محقَّق

ما أمره في العالمين محقَّق

God’s command, proceeding from God Himself, has become attached;

God’s command is a relation proceeding from God.

His command is not realized throughout the worlds

His command is not established in the worlds

إلا بواسطةِ الرسول فإنه

إلا بواسطةِ الرسول فإنه

أمرٌ مطاع سِرُّه يتحقق

أمرٌ مطاع سِرُّه يتحقق

except through the Messenger’s mediation, for it is

except through the Messenger, for it is

a command obeyed, whose secret comes to pass.

a command obeyed; its secret is realized.

إنْ خالفت أمر الإله إرادة

إنْ خالفت أمر الإله إرادة

منه تكادُ النفسُ منه تزهق

منه تكادُ النفسُ منه تزهق

If a will from Him opposes God’s command,

If God’s command is opposed by a will

the soul nearly expires because of it.

from Him, the soul nearly perishes because of it.

ولذاك شيبت النبيّ مقالة

ولذاك شيبت النبيّ مقالة

هي فاستقم فيما أُمرتَ تُوفَّق

هي فاستقم فيما أُمرتَ تُوفَّق

For that reason, a saying turned the Prophet gray:

“Stand steadfast in what you were commanded,” and you will be granted success.

namely, “So stand firm in what you were commanded; you will be granted success.”

فإذا أراد نقيضَ ما أُمرتْ به

فإذا أراد نقيضَ ما أُمرتْ به

نفسُ المكلِّف فالوقوعُ محقق

نفسُ المكلِّف فالوقوعُ محقق

Then, if the opposite of what you were commanded to do is desired by

the accountable person’s soul, its occurrence is certain.

by the very giver of the charge, its occurrence is certain.
