الناس في لَبسٍ من الخَلقِ الجديدِ

الناس في لَبسٍ من الخَلقِ الجديدِ

لكونه يفعل فيهم ما يريد

لكونه يفعل فيهم ما يريد

People are in confusion about the new creation,

For He does in them whatever He wills.

فما يرى الأمر كما يعلمه

فما يرى الأمر كما يعلمه

يشهده بعينه الخلق الجديد

يشهده بعينه الخلق الجديد

So one does not see the matter as one knows it;

The new creation witnesses it with its own eye,

في الزمن الفردِ الذي أثبته

في الزمن الفردِ الذي أثبته

لطالب البرهان بالفكر السديد

لطالب البرهان بالفكر السديد

In the indivisible instant that I have established

For the seeker of proof through sound thought.

ما نظرتْ عقولنا في مُشكلٍ

ما نظرتْ عقولنا في مُشكلٍ

أشكلَ من هذا ولا ركن شديد

أشكلَ من هذا ولا ركن شديد

Our minds have never considered a difficulty

More perplexing than this; nor is there a strong pillar

يأوي إليه فكره مستنداً

يأوي إليه فكره مستنداً

ممكناً فيه فعنه ما يحيد

ممكناً فيه فعنه ما يحيد

To which his thought may take refuge, leaning for support,

Firmly established in it, so that it does not stray from it.
