ما انبعثت همتي إليها

ما انبعثت همتي إليها

ولم أعرِّج يوماً عليها

ولم أعرِّج يوماً عليها

Never did my aspiration stir toward her,

My aspiration did not stir toward her,

nor did I ever pause by her.

Nor did I ever turn aside to her.

من علمَالنفسَ علمَ كشفٍ

من علمَالنفسَ علمَ كشفٍ

لم يبق ما عنده إليها

لم يبق ما عنده إليها

Of our philosophical knowledge, my knowledge is unveiling;

Whoever knows the soul through unveiled knowledge

He withheld from her nothing that He has.

Keeps nothing he has back from her.

بما له خصّها اعتناء

بما له خصّها اعتناء

فكلُّ ما عنده لديها

فكلُّ ما عنده لديها

His solicitude singled her out for all that is His,

He favors her with what is his, out of care,

so all that He has is in her keeping.

So all that he has is with her.

فليس في الكون ما تراه

فليس في الكون ما تراه

سواه فالأمر في يديها

سواه فالأمر في يديها

For nothing you behold in the cosmos

For there is nothing in the cosmos that she sees

is other than Him—so the affair lies in her hands.

Other than him; so the matter is in her hands.
