Behold, the Lord of humankind is my Lord, and He

is, for one who reflects intellectually, the Lord of the easts.

Three names—through the precise ordering of their cycle

we die and live; I do not part

from them; hence, were I to reflect, they would gray

the partings of my hair through their precise ordering in us and you.

Were it not for the Merciful, the Lord, I would not be hopeful,

even if there is wisdom in them through correspondence.

And through the All-Encompassing, the All-Merciful, I broadened my mind,

though on their account I had been in knots of constriction.
