1. إنّ التحرك عن ضجر

    سخط على حكمِ القدرْ

    Indeed, movement born of impatience

    Is resentment at fate’s decree.

  2. الساكنون لحكمِنا

    قومٌ أعزّاء صبُر

    Those who remain still before Our decree

    Are a people honored and patient.

  3. فهم لنا وأنا لهم

    وهم المرادُ من البَشَر

    For they are Ours, and I am theirs,

    And they are the ones desired among humankind.

  4. لا تركُننَّ لغيرِنا

    واصبِر تعشْ مع من صَبَر

    Never lean on anyone but Us,

    And be patient; you will live with those who have been patient.

  5. إني لكل مسلمٍ

    عرفَ الحقيقة فاعتبر

    Indeed, I am for every Muslim

    Who has known the truth—so take heed

  6. في كلِّ ما يجري علي

    ه من المكارِه والضَّرر

    In all that comes upon

    him of adversities and harm.

  7. قل للذين تحرَّكوا

    من حكمنا أين المفر

    Say to those who have moved

    Away from Our decree: where is escape?

  8. ماثَمَّ إلاّ حكمنا

    عند الإقامة والسفر

    There is nothing but Our decree

    During residence and travel.

  9. فاربحْ قعودَك تسترحْ

    قتكونَ من أهل الظفر

    So profit from your sitting still; you will find rest,

    And thus be among those who triumph.

  10. فالله ليسَ بغائبٍ

    وهو الكفيل لمن نظر

    For God is not absent,

    And He is the guarantor for whoever reflects.
