إن المجاهد في نارٍ وفي نور

إن المجاهد في نارٍ وفي نور

كأنه ذهبٌ في حُقِّ بلورِ

كأنه ذهبٌ في حُقِّ بلورِ

Indeed, the striver is in fire and in light,

The mujahid is in fire and in light

As though he were gold in a crystal casket.

As if he were gold in a crucible's might

ما إن رأيتُ له مثلا يعادله

ما إن رأيتُ له مثلا يعادله

فيما يحاول من كدٍّ وتشمير

فيما يحاول من كدٍّ وتشمير

Never have I seen a peer to match him

I've never seen one to equal his worth

In the toil and strenuous effort he undertakes.

In his toil and rolling up of sleeves girt
