فماso ... not أناI فيin الوجودِexistence غيريother than myself
فماso ... not أُعاديI oppose وماand ... not أُواليI befriend
So in existence I am none other than myself.
So I am in existence nothing but myself
So I neither oppose nor befriend.
Thus neither whom I befriend nor whom I oppose
وماand ... not أناديI cry out علىover فؤاديmy heart
منfor أجلthe sake of رامan archer ماضيkeen النصالِthe arrowheads
Nor do I cry out over my heart
And neither whom I call upon my heart
On account of an archer with keen arrowheads.
For the sake of shooting past arrows
فإنfor indeed راميthe shooter of السهامِthe arrows جفنىmy eyelid
إلىinto فؤاديmy heart بلاwithout نبالِarrows
For the shooter of the arrows is my eyelid,
For the shooter of arrows glanced
Into my heart, without arrows.
At my heart without arrows
فماso ... not أحاميI defend علىfor مقاميmy station
وماand ... not أعاليI strive for heights فماso ... not أباليI care
So I do not defend my station,
Thus I do not guard my stance
Nor do I strive for heights, so I do not care.
Nor do I care thus I do not mind
فإننيfor indeed I عشقتُI fell in love with غيريother than myself
فعينso the very essence of فصليmy separation هوit is اتصاليmy union
For I have fallen in love with one other than myself,
For I have loved another than myself
So the very essence of my separation is my union.
Thus the judgment of my connection is separation
فلاso do not تلمنيblame me علىfor هوايmy passion
فلستfor I am not عنof هاجريthe one who forsakes me بساليat all forgetful
So do not blame me for my passion,
So do not blame me for my passion
For I have not forgotten the one who forsakes me.
For I am not hesitant about my departure
