الوحي علمُ الكون إلا أنه

يخفى على العلماء بالأنواعِ

يخفى على العلماء بالأنواعِ

Revelation is knowledge of the cosmos, yet it

Revelation comprehends the universe, though

is hidden from scholars versed in the various kinds.

It's obscured from scholars of every school.

ولذاك ينكره الذي ما عنده

ولذاك ينكره الذي ما عنده

علم بما فيه من الأفظاع

علم بما فيه من الأفظاع

And so it is denied by one who has no

Thus it's denied by the one who lacks

knowledge of the horrors within it.

Knowledge of the terrors it contains.

فإذا يسطره اللبيبُ بكشفِه

فإذا يسطره اللبيبُ بكشفِه

أو فكره ليلذ بالأسماع

أو فكره ليلذ بالأسماع

So when the discerning one records it through his unveiling

When the wise transcribe it through their insight

or his thought, that it may delight the ears,

Or thought, to please the ears,

يدري به من ذاقه طعماً ولم

يدري به من ذاقه طعماً ولم

يكفر به إلا لضيق الباع

يكفر به إلا لضيق الباع

whoever has tasted its flavor knows it, and none

Those who have tasted it know it, while only

denies it except through a limited grasp.

The narrow-minded disbelieve.
