Tell me, may I be your ransom, who has a bird for a father,
Tell me, I implore you, who is the father of a bird,
if you know, and a human for a son,
If you know, and the son of a man?
بَينَbetween الأُبُوَّةِfatherhood وَالبُنُوَّةِand sonship وَهوَand he لاnot
جِنٌّjinn وَلاnor إِنسٌhumankind وَلاnor حَيوانُan animal
between fatherhood and sonship, while he is neither
Between fatherhood and sonship, yet he is not
jinn, nor human, nor animal?
A jinn, nor a human, nor an animal.
