قُلsay لِاِبنِto Ibn سَيِّدَةٍSayyida وَإِنand even though أَضحىhas become لَهُhe has
خَوَلٌretainers تُدِلُّboast بِكَثرَةٍof abundance وَخُيولُand horses
Tell Ibn Sayyida, though he now has
Tell the son of a lady that though he possesses
retainers who boast of their numbers, and horses:
Many horses that show his wealth and nobility
ماnot أَنتَyou إِلّاexcept كَالعُقابِlike the eagle فَأُمُّهُfor its mother
مَعروفَةٌknown وَلَهُand it has أَبٌa father مَجهولُunknown
You are just like the eagle, for its mother
He is but like a vulture whose mother is known
is known, while its father is unknown.
Yet his father remains always unknown
