حَمّامُنا بَردُها شَديدُ

حَمّامُنا بَردُها شَديدُ

وَما عَلى نَتنِها مَزيدُ

وَما عَلى نَتنِها مَزيدُ

Our bathhouse is bitterly cold,

Our pigeon coop is very cold

And its stench cannot be surpassed;

And its stench is extremely bold

كَأَنَّ فيها أَبا المُرَجّى

كَأَنَّ فيها أَبا المُرَجّى

يُنشِدُ ما قالَهُ الرَشيدُ

يُنشِدُ ما قالَهُ الرَشيدُ

As though Abu al-Murajja were in it,

As if inside resides
