تَجَنَّبkeep away عَنِfrom الكَهفِthe cave لاdo not تَأتِهِgo to it
تَجَنَّب عَنِ الكَهفِ لا تَأتِهِ
وَإِنand even if راقَis pleasing رَوشَنُهُits balcony وَالعَلاليand the upper chambers
وَإِن راقَ رَوشَنُهُ وَالعَلالي
Keep away from the cave; do not go to it,
Even if its balcony and upper chambers delight you.
فَثَمَّfor there مَصايِبُcalamities لاnot تُتَّقىcan be avoided
فَثَمَّ مَصايِبُ لا تُتَّقى
لُزومُobligatory observance of الصَلاةِprayer وَقَصُّand trimming السِبالِthe mustaches
لُزومُ الصَلاةِ وَقَصُّ السِبالِ
For there are calamities that cannot be avoided:
Obligatory prayer and the trimming of mustaches.
