وَأَبدَت تَباشيرُ الصَباحِ عَمودَها
Come, you two, give me a drink, for the darkness has lifted,
Oh cupbearer, the darkness has cleared away
And morning’s first gleams have revealed their pillar of light:
And dawn has raised its pillars of light
سُلافاًpure wine كَأَنَّas though المِسكَmusk كانَhad been لِدَنِّهاfor its wine jar
سُلافاً كَأَنَّ المِسكَ كانَ لِدَنِّها
خِتاماًa seal وَماءَand water الوَردِof roses رَوّىdrenched صَعيدَهاits soil
خِتاماً وَماءَ الوَردِ رَوّى صَعيدَها
Pure wine—as though musk had been for its jar
With lips pure as musk it seems
A seal, and rosewater had drenched its soil.
And the rose's dew has moistened its earth
