أَتاكَhas come to you النَجيبُal-Najib بِأَشعارِهِwith his poems
هُوَhe البَعرُdung لَكِنَّهُbut he مُذهَبُgilded
Al-Najib has come to you with his poems.
The noble came to you with his poems
He is dung, but gilded.
He is eloquent but he embellishes
وَيَحلفُand he swears بِاللَهِby God ماnot قَصدُهُhis aim
نَوالاًa gift وَلَكِنَّهُand yet he يَكذِبُlies
And he swears by God that his aim is not
And he swears by God his intention is not
a gift—but he is lying.
To gain your affection, but he is lying
