أَصبَحَ صَفعُ المُرتَضى
بَينَamong الأَنامِthe people مُرتَضىapproved
بَينَ الأَنامِ مُرتَضى
Slapping al-Murtada has become

approved among the people.

وَكانَand it was مَندوباًrecommended فَأَضـthen it became (word begins)
وَكانَ مَندوباً فَأَضـ
ـحىcompletion of 'became' واجِباًobligatory مُفتَرَضاprescribed
ـحى واجِباً مُفتَرَضا
And it was recommended; then it be-
