نالَ مَعالي عُمرا

نالَ مَعالي عُمرا

فَغاصَ في بَحرِ حرا

فَغاصَ في بَحرِ حرا

Maʿālī won ʿUmar,

He achieved the heights of glory

so he plunged into a vulva's sea.

And plunged into a deep sea

وَغابَ في غابِ اِستِهِ

وَغابَ في غابِ اِستِهِ

جَميعُهُ فَلَم يُرا

جَميعُهُ فَلَم يُرا

And he vanished in the thicket of his anus,

He disappeared into the woods of his desire

all of him—so he was not seen.

All of him, so he wasn't seen

وَحادَ عَن خِلَّتِهِ

وَحادَ عَن خِلَّتِهِ

في نَيلِ سِتِ الوُزرا

في نَيلِ سِتِ الوُزرا

And he turned away from his intimate friend

And strayed from his friends

in winning Sitt al-Wuzarāʾ.

In attaining the highest office

وَإِنَّ كُلَّ الصَيدِ لَو

وَإِنَّ كُلَّ الصَيدِ لَو

يَعقِلُ في جَوفِ الفَرا

يَعقِلُ في جَوفِ الفَرا

And indeed all the game—if

And if all the prey

he had sense—is in the wild ass's belly.

In the stomach of the mouse

تُرى فَمَولايَ الحَكيـ

تُرى فَمَولايَ الحَكيـ

ـمُ ما دَرى بِما جَرى

ـمُ ما دَرى بِما جَرى

I wonder, then: did my wise lord

Could think, it would seem my wise Master

not know what had happened?

Didn't know what happened

قالوا بَلى قُلتُ فَما

قالوا بَلى قُلتُ فَما

أَحدَثَ قالوا غَفَرا

أَحدَثَ قالوا غَفَرا

They said, 'He did.' I said, 'Then what

They said "Yes!" I said "So what

did he do?' They said, 'He forgave.'

Did he do new?" They said "He forgave."
