نهاني حلمي فما أَظْلِمُ

My forbearance restrains me, so I do no wrong.

My dreams warned me, so I have not been wronged,

And my station is exalted, so I am not wronged.

And my status is high, so I have not been oppressed,

And my station is mighty, so I am not wronged.

ولا بدّ من حاسد قلبُه

ولا بدّ من حاسد قلبُه

بنور مآثرنا مظلمُ

بنور مآثرنا مظلمُ

And there is bound to be an envious man whose heart

Yet there must be haters whose hearts

There is no avoiding an envier whose heart

Is darkened by the light of our noble deeds.

Are darkened by the light of our feats,

Is darkened by the light of our noble deeds.

قفَانَا الحسودُ ولسنا كما

قفَانَا الحسودُ ولسنا كما

يقول ولكن كما يعلمُ

يقول ولكن كما يعلمُ

The envious man has slandered us; we are not as

The envious have stood against us, but we are not as

The jealous one slandered us, yet we are not as

He says, but as he knows.

They say, rather we are as is known,

He claims, but rather as he truly knows.
