وَقالوا هَل رَأَيتَ أَبا دُؤاد

وَقالوا هَل رَأَيتَ أَبا دُؤاد

فَقُلتُ نَعَمْ رَأَيتُ أَبا الحُبابِ

فَقُلتُ نَعَمْ رَأَيتُ أَبا الحُبابِ

And they asked, “Have you seen Abu Du'ad?”

They said, "Have you seen Abu Du'ad?"

So I said, “Yes, I have seen Abu al-Hubab.”

I said, "Yes, I've seen the father of loves."

فَقالوا لا عَلَيكَ رَأَيتَ مِنهُ

فَقالوا لا عَلَيكَ رَأَيتَ مِنهُ

كَأَشبَه بِالغُرابِ مِنَ الغُرابِ

كَأَشبَه بِالغُرابِ مِنَ الغُرابِ

Then they said, “No matter—you saw in him

They said, "No, you have seen in him

The likeness of one more raven-like than a raven itself.”

One who resembles the raven more than a raven."
