أَبا عَليَّ أَراكَ الإِل

أَبا عَليَّ أَراكَ الإِل

هُ في الأَمرِ رُشدَك

هُ في الأَمرِ رُشدَك

Abu Ali, may God show you

My father Ali I see you guided

your right course in this matter.

By God in this matter

إِن لَم تَكُن عِندِيَ اليَو

إِن لَم تَكُن عِندِيَ اليَو

مَ كُنتُ بِالشَّوقِ عِندَك

مَ كُنتُ بِالشَّوقِ عِندَك

If you were not with me today,

If I am not with you today

I was with you in longing.

I am with you in yearning

فَاِهدِم مَحَلَّكَ عِندي

فَاِهدِم مَحَلَّكَ عِندي

وَاِجهد لِذلِكَ جهدَك

وَاِجهد لِذلِكَ جهدَك

So demolish your standing with me,

So break down your abode with me

and exert all your effort to that end.

And strive for that with all your might

فَلَستُ أَزدادُ إِلَّا

فَلَستُ أَزدادُ إِلَّا

رِعايَةً لَكَ وُدَّك

رِعايَةً لَكَ وُدَّك

For I only grow

For I only increase

in cherishing your friendship, for your sake.

In caring for you and loving you

وَاِنعَم بِمَن قُلتَ فيها

وَاِنعَم بِمَن قُلتَ فيها

عَبدَ الرَّجاءِ وَعَبدَك

عَبدَ الرَّجاءِ وَعَبدَك

And be happy with her of whom you said:

And bestow favor on the one you said

"A slave to hope, and your slave."

Is the slave of hope and your slave

أزيلَ نَحسُكَ فيها

أزيلَ نَحسُكَ فيها

وَأطلعَ اللَّهُ سَعدَك

وَأطلعَ اللَّهُ سَعدَك

May your ill fortune with her be dispelled,

May your misfortune in it disappear

and may God make your good fortune rise.

And may God reveal your fortune
