جنبتَني وأخي تكاليفَ القضا

وكفيتَنا مرضينِ مختلفينِ

وكفيتَنا مرضينِ مختلفينِ

You spared me and my brother the burdens of fate,

You spared my brother and I the burdens of fate,

And saved us from two different ailments.

And cured us though our illnesses were so different.

يا حي عالم دهرِنا أحييتنا

يا حي عالم دهرِنا أحييتنا

فلكَ التصرفُ في دمِ الأخوينِ

فلكَ التصرفُ في دمِ الأخوينِ

O living one, scholar of our age, you have restored us to life;

O Master of our world and age, you gave us life,

So you may do as you will with the two brothers’ blood.

So you may do as you please with the blood of two brothers.
