تركتَyou stopped مكاتبتيwriting to me عامداًdeliberately
تركتَ مكاتبتي عامداً
وإنْand even if كانَwas ذاكَthat يُلَطِّيconceals أذاكاyour hurt
وإنْ كانَ ذاكَ يُلَطِّي أذاكا
You deliberately stopped writing to me,
You left off writing me intentionally
even if that conceals your hurt.
Though that was wounding my feelings
فليso I have غيرةٌjealousy مِنْof رسولٍa messenger سعىhastened
فلي غيرةٌ مِنْ رسولٍ سعى
إليكَto you وقدْthough indeed كنتُI was أولىmore entitled بذاكاto that
إليكَ وقدْ كنتُ أولى بذاكا
I am jealous of a messenger who hastened
Yet I have the jealousy of a messenger who hastened
to you, though I had more right to do so.
