جئناwe came إلىto البابِthe door باحتفالٍwith ceremony
جئنا إلى البابِ باحتفالٍ
ثمَّthen رجعناwe returned بسوءِin a bad حالِstate
ثمَّ رجعنا بسوءِ حالِ
We came to the door with ceremony.
We came to the door with celebration
Then we returned in a sorry state.
Then we returned in poor condition
قالواthey said لناto us نائمٌasleep فقلناso we said
قالوا لنا نائمٌ فقلنا
بلْrather هوَhe يقظانُawake للمعاليfor noble deeds
بلْ هوَ يقظانُ للمعالي
They told us, “He is asleep,” so we said:
They told us "He is sleeping" so we said
“Rather, he is awake for noble deeds.”
"Nay, he is awake to grand ideas"
