مِمَّنْfrom the one whom هويتُI loved علىdespite جلالةٍthe grandeur of قدرِهِhis rank
مِمَّنْ هويتُ على جلالةٍ قدرِهِ
Three beauties were gathered for Lebanon
Lebanon has gathered in it three splendors
from the one I loved, despite his exalted rank:
From whom I am enamored for the majesty of his worth
تفاحةٌan apple مِنْfrom وجنتيهِhis two cheeks وخمرةٌand wine
تفاحةٌ مِنْ وجنتيهِ وخمرةٌ
مِنْfrom مقلتيهِhis two eyes وثلجةٌand a piece of snow مِنْfrom ثغرهِhis mouth
مِنْ مقلتيهِ وثلجةٌ مِنْ ثغرهِ
an apple from his cheeks, and wine
An apple from his cheeks and wine
from his eyes, and a piece of snow from his mouth.
