حياةُ البهاءِ كموتِ الشهابِ

حياةُ البهاءِ كموتِ الشهابِ

فهذا مصابُ وهذا مصابْ

فهذا مصابُ وهذا مصابْ

The life of al-Baha is like the death of al-Shihab.

The life of glory is like the death of a shooting star

For this is a calamity, and that is a calamity.

One is stricken and the other is covered in dust

فليتَ الذي في الثرى فوقَهُ

فليتَ الذي في الثرى فوقَهُ

وليتَ الذي فوقهُ في الترابِ

وليتَ الذي فوقهُ في الترابِ

So, if only the one in the earth were above it,

Oh how I wish the one buried in the ground above him

And if only the one above it were in the dust!

And the one above in the dust buried beneath him
