The darts of Hind’s gaze have become my desire.

She shoots arrows—would that they were mine.

Were you to see the monotheists when she appeared to them,

You would think they had devoted themselves to idols.

For in her stature, her cheek, and her mouth are

A bough, apples, and cloud-born hailstones.

When she appeared between her two age-mates, and from

The clouds of veils a full moon shone forth,

I called to both at once: ‘O my heart, and O my mind,

I have fallen—so depart, both of you, in peace.’
