لقتلتي متوَّخِ

The Christian girl’s girdle

is intent on killing me.

أرخانيَ الشدُّ منهُ

أرخانيَ الشدُّ منهُ

وكثرةُ الشدِّ ترخي

وكثرةُ الشدِّ ترخي

Its tightening has slackened me,

and too much tightening loosens.
