قالتْShe said لقدْindeed أحزننيsaddened me عقدُهُhis binding
قالتْ لقدْ أحزنني عقدُهُ
وحلُّهُand his release عنfrom ذلكَthat الشغلِwork
وحلُّهُ عن ذلكَ الشغلِ
She said, “His binding has indeed saddened me,
She said, "His tying me up distressed me,
and so has his release from that work.”
And his untying me from that occupation,
فقلتُso I said ياoh طولَduration سروريmy joy بهin him
فقلتُ يا طولَ سروري به
قدْindeed صارَhas become أهلَone qualified for العقدِbinding والحلِّand loosing
قدْ صارَ أهلَ العقدِ والحلِّ
So I said, “Oh, how enduring my joy in him!
So I said, O the length of my happiness with him
He has become one of those who bind and loose.”
Has become the people of tying up and untying.
