يا منْ يطببُ قوماً ثم يمهلُهُمْ

يا منْ يطببُ قوماً ثم يمهلُهُمْ

يوماً بماذا عداكَ الشرُّ تعتذرُ

يوماً بماذا عداكَ الشرُّ تعتذرُ

O you who treat people, then leave them waiting

O you who heals a people, then gives them respite

For a day—what excuse will you offer, may evil spare you?

A day - with what but harm can you justify yourself?

اذكرْ فلانَ الذي أسهلْتَهُ سَحَرَاً

اذكرْ فلانَ الذي أسهلْتَهُ سَحَرَاً

إنَّ الكرامَ إذا ما أسهلوا ذكروا

إنَّ الكرامَ إذا ما أسهلوا ذكروا

Remember so-and-so, whom you purged before dawn;

Remember so-and-so, whom you made progress easy,

For the noble remember when they administer a purge.

For the generous, when they show grace, will be remembered.
