يا سيداً ذكاؤُهُ

يا سيداً ذكاؤُهُ

والفهمُ أعيا مَنْ يصفْ

والفهمُ أعيا مَنْ يصفْ

O master, whose intelligence

O master of wisdom

and understanding have baffled whoever describes them,

And understanding beyond description

كنْ ناهباً أو واهباً

كنْ ناهباً أو واهباً

مثِّلْ لنا ولا تقفْ

مثِّلْ لنا ولا تقفْ

be a plunderer or a giver;

Be a taker or a giver

give us an example, and do not stop.

Be a model, don't just stand
