مدينةَO city of عزِّIzz (glory) الدينِal-Din (the faith) طبتِyou are pleasant مدينةًas a city
مدينةَ عزِّ الدينِ طبتِ مدينةً

وكلُّ مكانٍ ينبتُ العزَّ طيِّبُ
O city of Izz al-Din, how pleasant a city you are!
The city of honor prospered as a city
And every place where glory grows is pleasant.
And every place that grows honor is good
ولوand even if كنتُI were فيat أبوابهِits gates كنتُI would be راضياًcontent
ولو كنتُ في أبوابهِ كنتُ راضياً
فلاso not أشتكيI complain فيهاin it ولاand not أتعتَّبُI find fault
فلا أشتكي فيها ولا أتعتَّبُ
And even if I were at its gates, I would be content.
And if I were at its gates, I would be content
So I would not complain there, nor would I find fault.
So I have no complaints about it, nor do I blame
