My standing at their door is an honor.
My standing at their door is honor
And oh, how long my banishment if I do not stand!
Oh how long my banishment, if I do not stand

إليهمْ بأصلٍ لقالوا انصرفْيَّةٌ
And had I no branch
Even if I had no branch to them
connected to them by a root, they would say, “Go away!” (final word malformed).
With roots they’d say “Turn away”
